The 2012 Golden Globe awards kicked off with a bang on Sunday evening at the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel. Hosted by Ricky Gervais, Hollywood’s biggest stars in both film and television came out to celebrate a night of talent and achievement.

At the beginning of the evening, the red carpet unveiled some absolute stunners. Nearly everyone wore long flowing gowns. My favorite fashion choice of the evening was a sleek emerald gown worn by Laura Dern, which glittered beautifully as she approached the stage to accept her award for Best Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical. Debra Messing, Tina Fey, Reese Witherspoon, and Paula Patton all rocked — with style — the classic mermaid style dress. Selma Hayek and Charlize Theron were both breathtaking in minimal and natural makeup that accentuated their exquisite, god-given features and allowed their natural beauty to shine. Usually, I am faced with selecting one of only a few amazing looks to write about. But this year I was blessed with so many beauties that it was difficult to choose.

Kathrine McPhee, who stars in the new NBC hit show SMASH, was — in all her glory — angelic. She looked exquisite in a nude Donna Karan corset gown and matching nude stilettos. Her hair was loose, yet full of volume and fell softly around her face. This look is perfection when paired with such beautiful, clean, and flawless make-up. Her skin looked radiantly sun kissed, and her eye makeup was done so beautifully that I couldn’t wait to re-create this captivating look!

Get This Look:

Face: Start by applying clean and even Cream Foundation in your shade / tone with the #940 Foundation Brush. Blend out below the jaw bone, onto the neck, and out toward the hair line. Set the foundation using a Loose Powder in Shell or Buttercream and the #510 Fan Brush.

Next, warm-up and contour the face. Using Brush #710 and Endless Summer Bronzer, lightly dust the Bronzer all over the face — starting with both cheekbones, moving outwards, and lightly shading the perimeter of the face until satisfied.

Eyes: To define and sculpt the eyebrows, use Brush #210 and — depending on the lightness of your brow — a mixture of Taupe and Espresso Eye Colors. Fill in areas that are sparse to create symmetrical brows.

To create a warm, beautiful crease like Katharine’s, use Brush #800 and a blend of Galaxy and Canyon Eye Colors — blending back and forth until the edges are defused.  Using the same brush, dust Bronzed Eye Color over the entire lid. Switch to Brush #810, and apply a small amount of Bronzed along the lower lash line.

Add false lashes, and then use the #100 Eye Liner Brush and Black Cake Eyeliner to apply a thin, natural line along the upper lid. Tip: Minimal wing tip at outer corners for this particular look.

Lastly, apply one luscious coat of Volumizing Mascara over both the upper and lower lashes.

Lips: Begin by outlining the lips with Natural Lip Pencil. Then, apply Rose Clay Lipstick with the Portable #310 Lip Brush. For additional shine on the lips, try finishing this look with Shine Lip Gloss! You are now ready to stun them senseless.
